Yes, and generationally, as the governments in the 1960's and 70's were criminally irresponsible in the UK on these sorts of issues, and the Blair government was, in some ways, even worse that Thatcher's. You can always trust government to suck.

@lamppost7218 Tony Blair's government covered the worst of this period, and I note were not called out. Politicians are protected, whatever side.

@wombatdk Unlikely that Trump voter would resirt to the same violence as seen now, or after the 2016 election. Your illiberal "liberals" are the violent ones.

@BatchelderPatrick Americans who pull such stunts are hardly lesx accountable. Hillary Clinton should be subjectec to the same recriminations, and she is one of mamy. There are, or course more politicians amd senior bureaucrats from mamy countries who will or were never made to account for any number of reasons, on all sides of politics.

@sonyabunkum6212 Yes, though we Brits, as a British Australian use both forms. Personal preference really.

Plus Labour for the 1990's and early 2000's outbreaks, handled with the same incompetence.

In short, yes, at least in the case of the US. There is a lot of spare soybean for feed in the US, reducing risks somewhat.

Looking at 1990''s British Labour. Looking at Obama's government when BSE brome out in the US in 2016. Plenty of blame to go around.

Neither did Labour, as these issues were known since the 1960's at least, and the big '90's BSE outbreaks hapoened under Blair's New Labour, who pompously mishandled everything then.
1
Tony Blair too, given the 90's outbreak was well after he was elected, and New Labour handled it with the same incompetence.
