@pegasusted2504 Atheism has a very dodgy past as well...plus better hope you don't need charity one day because it will be one those religions that will help you.

@SamPJohan well, I cannot speak for other countries, but doing that in Australia for all churches would mean a lot more need for state welfare, which is notoriously inefficient as there would be no volunteer workforce. I volunteer for my churches' charity, but definitely would not volunteer to help the government. That said, charitable status needs stricter regulation p.
