True, they didn't, but both events fundamentally changed the nations in which they occured, if in different ways. Being neither a US citizen, Ukranian, Russian/Soviet or anyone particularly close to either event, I can still see how songle events led to great changes.

@Grahameajohnson Yet people from the US refer to themselves as "Americans" to the exclusion of other American nations, and their country as "America" rather often. True, your official documents and institutions are usually more precise.

@mattd3121 Unlikely as the pilots and other terrorists were still in training when Bush assumed office 8 months earler. Blame Clinton and his dithering, spending too much time enyoing his interns andnot really doing much else of note. The plot was hatched well within his time in office.

@Wittle_Boyo Perspective mate: apart from the modern obsession with comic book movies Stan Lee isn't really a household name, especially outside the US. As mentioned, his natural death is not a tragedy, unless you are someone like Sheldon Cooper. I know nerds like him, and you, exist, but the majority of us who have jobs, friends and sex lives find any obsession with "superheroes" quite ridiculous.
