  15.  @J.DeLaPoer  no you wouldnt live in that former scullery today either…..but it has been poshed up and got gold nobbles and fancy trimmings now with heat and air conditioning and plumbing and all sorts of other luxuries…a lock on the door,with nobody getting you out of bed at 2 in the morning because his master has wet the bed..and there are good jobs in the city without you being “in service” to some upper middle class chappy. Luxury and amenities need to be paid for…just as his master back in the day moaned about having to pay the servants wages..

  16.  @J.DeLaPoer  have a look at “Mayfair House” in Mayfair London ….Owned by John Caudwell (the phone sales magnate )its on YouTube….that is kept as a family home and is not chopped up…but i think its been bought on leasehold as i dont think freeholds are on sale in such salubrious areas…i think the Duke of Westminster owns the freeholds.
