BS alert - I would bet the farm that "most" of his Far Rockway classmates did not go on to Harvard and Yale. At very most a handfull. Then the top Ivies were still over admitting students from pricey prep schools, and even top public high schools might only get a couple of offers of acceptance.

My cousin has a Ponzi Madoff account in the early Seventies - he was introduced to Madoff through his Father in Law who knew the Madoff in Long Island. There is never any proof that Madoff ever was a legitimate money manager, While he did have legitimate trading buisnesses run by his sons - this bit that gives the impression that at one time he was a legitimate money manager is false.

@clarity9405 When I had a job in the 60's with largely Harvard Students I was really surpised by the high percentate of students were from a handfull of prep schools like Andover and Exeter. The truth is Madoff's high school in a good year probably had a couple of students who got into Harvard or Yale in the 50's when it was even harder to get in from public schools. The bit didn't need this puffery to make its main points. I will say that in thirty years in the securities business I never heard of anyone the Series 7 - stockbroker and the Principal; exam on the same day and passed both.. If he really did that its the greatest legitimite accomplishment of his life.
