@youareliedtobythemedia As I said , right to self determination in those constitutions was reserved for REPUBLICS in Yugoslavia and Kosovo and Metohija wasn't/isn't a republic (it is an autonomous region , by any constitution since 1974)). The article you've wrote , just underlines what I have said - "...citizens of Serbia should decide...." (paraphrasing) and there was no referendum at the time in Serbia. Nor it was in Kosovo and Metohija at that time , unless you count so called Kacanik referendum with couple hundreds of people (exclusively ethnic Albanians , with irredentistic attitude and separatism on their mind) of around 1,5 million citizens in Kosovo and Metohija at the time (all ethnic groups) - which was illegally organized . It has the same merit and importance , as if my neighbors in the street I live in , proclaimed independence from Serbia for the whole city. In order to be valid , any and every referendum should be organized in accordance with constitution and law , by proper authorities in charge , with more than 50% of voters voting (majority of that number decides on the matter in hand). That never happened and I bet you can't put any links regarding that "referendum" or the official result of it , or even a question on which they were voting. Nor you can say who organized it. As I remember , Rahman Morina was in charge in Kosovo and Metohija at that time (member of socialist party) and he (neither the authorities of autonomous region) never organized any referendum. I would really like to see any documents regarding that "referendum" , maybe I missed something important...

@youareliedtobythemedia First , they didn't voted (ever) , they just (authorities at the time) proclaimed "independence" in 2008 (as ordered by their sponsors , mostly US). At the moment , they are just a US colony , they don't have their own currency , they have foreign military (KFOR) and major police force is international (UNMIK) , even some high judicial elements. Second , Serbian constitution NEVER (nor Yugoslav one) allowed autonomous region , as Kosovo and Metohija is , right to self determination , it was reserved for Republics in fmr. Yugoslavia (six of them). For sure , at the time of Kosovo proclamation of "independence" , in 2008 , Serbian constitution didn't allowed for this , nor the UN resolution 1244 (still valid).

I mostly agree on your reasoning , but I'll comment on a last sentence. Majority of ethnic Kosovo Albanians (over a million of proclaimed 1,8 million of ethic Albanians in Kosovo) lives abroad (mostly in Europe). Most of them do not intend to repatriate ever , they just visit on holidays and they like an "idea" of independence - not reality as it is. Fun fact - ethnic Albanian population before 1999 NATO aggression was just over 1 million , and in 2003 (official data) , they had around 1,6 million. They just handed the documents to whoever wanted it (and their uncles) - to more than half a million people (mostly from Albania). As for local "elections" in the north municipalities , only 3,47% people voted (around 13 000) , of which around 5000 has address somewhere in Europe (there was less than 1000 ethnic Serbs which voted , most of them functionally illiterate and some payed to do so). Balkan is very complicated place...
