  1. Not sure about oil prices in the future, but wouldn't bio fuel be the closest equivalent? Today's gasoline is already 15% alcohol from corn, and we are still paying farmers in the US NOT to grow crops to avoid crashing food prices. I can see it might be pretty easy to make fuel 50% alcohol or more.
