  1. Productivity increase is mostly driven by technology, not people working harder, that's the fallacy of that argument. If a business owner invests more into technology to improve productivity while the workers work the same amount, then the business owner should get the extra profit, not workers. This is why IT and high tech wages are going up fast, they are the main driver behind productivity increase.
