Yes, the omicron variant is highly transmissible but if it is less severe and the death rate is not any different, then why the panic?

@Smudgie That is the problem with socialized medicine like the NHS, isn't it? Wouldn't home care be a better solution with the Omicron variant? We know that with a viral infection like Covid there is no cure. So, we are just treating the symptoms to alleviate the symptoms. Covid is really showing us the fallacy of the NHS infrastructure. It is not sustainable.

@cdnbrit Since the symptoms of the omicron variant are less severe and lethal, then how would someone infected know that they have the omicron variant? I see this omicron variant as a blessing that more people will contract it and will be immunized without having ever taking the jab. Again, do you not see that the concern is unwarranted!

@victoriawilson3536 Boris is just like you and I, he doesn't know anymore than you and I but he has to give the appearance that he has it under control. But you and I know that no one has any control over this virus or any virus for that matter.

@claudiawenzel7923 I am sorry but I have to disagree because your premise is flawed. You are assuming that the lethality of the omicron variant is similar to the all the other variants because it is COVID-19. But is it? I have had people who get it and their only complaint is that it felt like they had contracted a mild flu and they have recovered with no issues. Why the ignorance and the fear mongering?

@claudiawenzel7923 I commend you for your command of the English language even if it is not your mother tongue. I understood you the first time and I perfectly understand your concerns now. Again, I will stand firmly in my views because the Omicron variant is not lethal and not severe. I speak this from experience and from confirmation of the medical professionals from South Africa who first detected this variant. Your premise is still flawed because it assumes that the severity and the lethality of this variant is the similar or the same as the other previous variants. You are driving fear for no reason whatsoever.
