I have a built LS7 in my C5. Theres a reason GM stopped installing this engine in production cars. They are about as reliable as an ex-wife's testimony at a custody hearing. Ask me how I know. This is the worst SBC EVER MADE. And most people think it's the 305........

@kingssuck06 Married with children, then divorced. Happens to about 50% of all marriages. The CrN coating on my $400 apiece titanium valves wore off in less than 20,000 miles. $3,200.00 for 8 new valves......I don't think so!! Titanium is this engines kryptonite.....

@chevysttruck You can't wet sleeve one cylinder on this block. You have to do all of them. A new block is cheaper....

Could be it's HIS $$$ being spent, and not yours!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

@stopfuckingwithmegoogle1965 #7 cylinder runs the hottest in an LS anything. Not by a huge margin, but enough if your tune is on the ragged edge. This is almost always caused by detonation/spark knock. Almost always ctacks the block, too. Rumor has it that Darton sleeves have been discontinued. That was the only known fix. Call Race Engine Development, and talk to Steve DiMirjian. If anyone can save the block, it would be him. GM has discontinued LS7 stuff, so bare blocks have jumped in value. Oh, and it wont be cheap........

Maybe. The Ti rods also go bad when the coating wears off. When that happens, the rods attack all the metal, the rods try to weld themselves together (friction weld), and if they weld good enough, the rod couldn't pivot, and when that piston was fired, the rod could've bent.......

@jewlenskyy5993 Doesn't explain rod big ends welding together.....

@Modsnake98 Uh, NO!! They are also experiencing the CrN coating on the titanium rods is coming off, and then they take out the cranks rod throws!!!! Also known to crack cylinder sleeves, especially #7!!!
