It is neither. Uranium mining is the worst for the environment, and its safety record is so bad no insurance company in the world will give it an insurance

German population hates nuclear power. The Green party was born in the 80s because of it.

The decision to close down predates Fukushima.

How can Europe be energy independent with nuclear? It has to import Uranium and is therefor by definition dependent.

@Gardstyle35 Who in US politics is a marxist? They are mostly center social democrats, at best. No real communists there.

@Gardstyle35 CRT is not Marxist. Have you even read Das Kapital by Marx? He predicted the revolution from capitalism to communism when the workers of the world unite and take over the means of production. Reason for that revolution would be the horrid working conditions. That is why a true Marxist would never try to start a revolution, as it has to come from the workers, naturally. Please swap the words to make CRT out of that.

@zunzwak4482 She would have lost the next election if she would have tried that. Germans HATE nuclear power.

Nuclear energy is by far the most expensive form of power creation.

@karstenschuhmann8334 If Russia would act rational, they would have not taken Crimea. They would have turned it in a puppet state, like they did before with parts of Georgia. They would have the same control over it without the international sanctions. Same goes for China. Its wolf diplomacy is not rational. Its sanctions on Australian coal while Chinese regions have to cut of power is not rational. Its sanctions on Lithuania because it dared to talk to Taiwan is not rational.

@BasicLib there was never a Marxist revolution, or better, never a revolution of the kind Marx predicted. But you come to the core flaw of Marx theories: they are simply wrong. At least his predictions of the workers class uprising and the transformation to a class less society via socialism.

@Gardstyle35 no. Reason for that is that rich people become richer because they can live of their wealths interest and also gain from productivity increases, while workers don’t. Seriously, have you even read Marx?
