Turkey is not a NATO ally, but a NATO member. Huge difference.

You would have quiet the angry Belarussian population, and Russia is currently short on menpower to suppress rebellions.

I am really looking forward to this. If Orban overplays his hand, Poland may drop him. Which in turn means Hungary can be suspended from EU bodies, losing the right to vote. We are not there yet, but we will see.

@prolarka Germany has enough gas for heating. Its reserves are at 67.5% and growing. Alternative suppliers are there. LNG terminals are build and operational by the end of the year. Even if Russia cuts supplies to 0, Germany gets enough gas from other sources to heat.

Not a good move, as the belt and road imitative is already developing a really bad reputation (Sri Lanka) by putting countries into a debt trap. EU countries already distancing themselves from China. Furthermore, China has massive problems on its own (ZeroCovid strategy killing of any growth, housing bubble...), so I am uncertain how much they can and want to invest for Russia.

Considering Orbans land claims for Ukrainian territory, it is even more complicated.

Russian economy -4% in second quarter, tank production at 0 due to sanctions, car production at -95%. (To compare: France +0.5%, Germany 0.0%). They soon lose their best customer (EU) and have nobody to replace it (no spare pipeline capacity to China/India). Furthermore, Finland and Sweden are joining NATO, which increases protection of the Baltics and makes St. P easy prey. Massive Brain drain (I know a good dozen of Russians who left the country, all in their 30s with academic degrees), crippled aviation sector (no spare parts for their Boeing/Airbus fleet). Russia is truly f*****.
