@MarcHatePage Worked perfectly well for the German Greens.

Ever looked what mining Uranium does to the environment?

@sehfisch2350 You ignore how Germany works: Education is a state issue, not a federal one. The federal government is not responsible for school budgets.
2
@sehfisch2350 The federal government could only do that, because the state governments allowed it. As mentioned before, the 9bn for Lufthansa were not given away, but the government got shares in return. It is therefor not an either or, as the investment might even turn a profit and the money (or at least a fraction) will come back. Furthermore, it is not like Germany would have to chose, they can borrow enough money. As Lufthansa is Germany`s last big carrier, letting it go bankrupt presents a economic risk to the country, becoming 100% dependent on foreign carriers which were saved by their governments.

Rich might be the false description (that is FDP). Green voters are higher income, higher education, female, often working in the public sector. Higher middle class.

@prkp7248 If you ever look at Uranium mines and what they do to the environment, you would scrap the environmental friendly bit immediately. Not to mention the issues of how and where to put the nuclear waste. Germany still has huge issues in the regions where Uranium was mined. Furthermore, nuclear power is the most expensive of all. Look at Hickley Point C, which will increase costs for UK consumers for the next decades. Nuclear power is just outdated until fusion (if ever) is figured out. Alternatives are cheaper, safer, quicker, better.

@prkp7248 Ok, I am interested: why does Germany still has no solution for its nuclear waste then? Why will Hickley Point C increase the prices for UK consumers for the next decades, being the most expensive of all ways to produce electricity? I am curious.
1
@prkp7248 How can the reason be nonmodernization for higher prices, if Hickley Point C is not yet finished building? Furthermore, only 2.9% of electricity produced in the UK is done so with oil, but it is the oil companies fault? Oil is not a primary source of electricity in most countries... You claim to be of this profession, but do not know this? I specifically ask why GERMANY has not solved this issue. You gave no answer.

Anti nuclear is deeply rooted in Germany and the founding myth of the German Greens, their creation partly the anti nuclear movement of Germany in the 80s. This issue is also already solved in Germany, the end of nuclear plants was decided two decades ago. If you want to lose an election in Germany, say you want to build new nuclear plants.

If you are only really familiar with the US/UK election system, you only consider the 2/3 biggest parties. If you live in a PR democracy, you are used to a spectra of parties of of sizes and shapes, being successful by implementing their policies without ever getting even close to a majority.
