2014 was the start of a new financial cycle

The EU already dealt with it. Budget is passed.

All the questions you are asking are already answered by the new EU`s budget agreements. What is there to guess? It is written down, and passed. It is already decided.

Lets see: the EU has an elected parliament. the EU`s council is made of the governments of the member nations, all democratically elected. the commission is appointed by the council and elected by parliament. How much more democracy can you get in?

@CB1000FP1 The EU has never tried to prevent the UK from leaving. It was the UK requesting access to EU markets, and the EU demanded that in return, the UK has to follow EU regulations. Do not confuse those two. Also, what does it has to do with democracy? UK is outside the EU, a competitor. The EU`s job is to get the best deal for the EU, nothing else.

No. Look at Ireland. Turning from a net recipient to a net contributor. Leveling up, the UK could learn a thing or two how its done from the EU.
3
@CB1000FP1 Simple: UK small, EU big. Ask Canada or Mexico how they are treated by the US. Ask Switzerland or Norway how they are treated by the EU (remember, Farage suggested that the UK should follow the Norway model) Its how the world functions.

@Olliebobalong Congratulations, you just completely ignored the country with the most deaths in the second world war, the sowjet union. You seem to ignore the efforts of Polish soldiers and French soldiers. The Marshal plan was paid by the US, and the UK got the biggest share of it, much more than Germany. It was US money, not UK money. Learn history.
2
@Olliebobalong Just some numbers: UK received 3442.8 million dollars France 2806.3 Italy 1515 Germany 1412.8 So the UK got more than double than Germany of US TAXPAYERS money. Makes you wounder why the UK still had 8 years of rationing, does it? Don`t claim the efforts done by other countries as UK`s contribution. But you just proven why Brexit happens: lies, lacking knowledge of historic events, and ignorance.
2
@Olliebobalong It was you starting with the english speaking world saving everyone, completely ignoring the non english speaking ones who contributed massively. Are you aware that the London agreement and the Marshal plan are two separate agreements? The UK got money from the marshal plan, not the other way around! Here are the first two sentences of wiki: The Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was an American initiative passed in 1948 for foreign aid to Western Europe. The United States transferred over $12 billion (equivalent to $130 billion in 2019) in economic recovery programs to Western European economies after the end of World War II. No mention of Uk paying, only the US? So please, before telling me to google, you should follow your own advice.

Russia is an economic dwarf. Its GDP has the size of Italy, while its population is 2-3 times the size. Exports to Russia are minor and rather irrelevant to the economic well being of the EU (different picture for some smaller countries on the east border, but still).
2
Italy is a net contributor and the biggest south European country. Something is wrong in your narrative.
2
@davidyoung2440 Why would they? Poland is pro EU.
2
EU budget is passed, too.

@geisterfahreruberholer2171 Italy`s government is anti EU? Since when? Apparently you aren`t really informed about politics.
1
@geisterfahreruberholer2171 Did you listen by any chance to the Opposition, like Lega? They sit in the parliament, but not in the government. You are aware of the difference? And what do you mean by crap? Politicians mostly talk crap, but it is mostly irrelevant, too. Be more specific.

The contribution to the EU is not calculated on taxes, but percentage of the nations GNI.
1
Yes, but it was pure propaganda. the additional red tape, the replacement of the EU agencies with UK ones and the economic loss far outweighs the contributions to the EU.
