@karankapoor2701 The AFD, which is currently at war with itself, and got massive illegal donations from unknown foreign sources? The AFD that made Holocaust deniers into regional MPs?

The AFD lost massively, now below 10% of the votes in both states.

@karankapoor2701 Because in neither of these two states a CDU/AFD coalition would have a majority, or what is your logic?
2
@karankapoor2701 according to polls, there is no majority for an CDU/AFD coalition, either.

@octavianpopescu4776 Voters apparently disagree, as they reelected the SPD/Greens.

@octavianpopescu4776 this might be your point of view, but it isn’t in the eyes of the government, nor is it in the eyes of the millions of people married without ever getting a priest involved. Why should marriage be exclusive to religion, when it’s main purpose has nothing to do with religion, nor does it involve religion?

The CDU could win the federal elections (getting most of the votes), but still be opposition. As unlike the UK with FPTP, Germany uses PR, which usually results in coalition governments. And if the other parties decide to govern without the CDU and have 50% of the parliamentarian seats, the term winning is quiet meaningless. For example, the CDU was junior partner in the Baden Würtenberg government.

@octavianpopescu4776 marriage is not a religious institution. It is a legal framework, deciding to merge to entities into one, economically, on rights to decide matters for each other, on responsibilities for each other. Nothing religious about it, you can marry without being part of any religion.
