Look at how the Greens govern the state, together with the conservative CDU. Do you believe a marxist party can govern with a conservative party? And even if so, you have to present laws by the Greens that are Marxist. So prove me wrong: what Marxist law have the Greens passed?

  4.  @LemonsRage  But Merkel is ladylike and complying to men? She wants to become chancellor. So she will be heavily scrutinized. Everyone knew that. Why did she not check her CV, her finances, her book beforehand? It just shows either ignorance, arrogance or unprofessionalism.

  6.  @dohlecarnett1866  Good question. Checking your CV for inconsistencies is one of the first steps to prepare. Scrutinize your book (or better, just dont publish one..) is also important but not difficult. Were they stupid? Too arrogant? Whatever it was, if you aim for the top spot, you have to be prepared, because the gloves will come of. And the Greens werent prepared.

  7.  @danielbuch1301  The issue are not the book, her CV or the undeclared income, but the image the Greens put up in front about their candidate: she knows all the details, makes almost no mistakes. But if this would be the case, this could not have happened, therefor the image starts to crack. These are rookie mistakes, they are embarrassing. Everyone knew she would get attacked, so why make it so easy?

  12.  @belonging9200  As you watch political videos and even comment on them, I assume you are invested in politics (so am I). But we are a tiny minority, we are not the people that decide elections. The majority of people looks at the headlines, and the 15 minute news at most. Therefor, as sad as it is, the characteristics and actions we see after an analysis of the candidates remain hidden, and therefor irrelevant, to most. Therefor campaigning skills is what decides elections. And Bearbocks skills seem lacking, which is a massive handicap.

  13. She knew she got the money. She did not declare it as additional income as an MP. She also claimed achievements in her CV she did not had. Nothing too serious, but enough to counteract the description the Greens made about her.

  14. Not much due to the German system. The Greens would require a coalition to govern, either CDU, or SPD/FDP. Then, due to the German two chamber system, serious changes would have to pass the Bundesrat, where the 16 governments of the German states decide, only one of them is governed by the Greens. And finally, EU, where a German government would need to convince 26 other nations to agree. Furthermore, it is already consensus in Germany to work towards a better environment, nothing exclusive to the Greens anymore.

  16.  @belonging9200  You do not present yourself as a details person and someone scrutinizing everything to the public, but then fail to present an accurate CV. That is the issue: Her party presented certain qualities of her, but if she really had those qualities, these errors would not have happened. That is the reason why it sticks. People were promised better. Rookie errors that should not have happened. Which speaks for a lack of professionalism in the Green party. Campaigning is a dirty business, and the Greens know this. So why make is so easy to be attacked?

  19.  @Twocat5side  No. I just question why to use the most expensive method, which is also one of the worst for the environment (mining uranium is terrible), if you can supply a country with cheap, clean energy by a mixture of other techs (solar, water, wind, gas, and if you have excess power, turn it into hydrogen to store or for usage in chemical processes). Nuclear power plants are outdated, expensive and have no advantage compared to other technologies available.

  23. Please, ugly campaigns are nothing exclusively right wing, every party does that. It is part of the game, and the Greens were attacked even more in the past. And the problem for the Greens is: their candidate made errors. Her CV was false. She forgot to declare income. Parts of her book were copied. If you want to win an election, you are not allowed to make such stupid mistakes.
