  1. My wife (Russian) feels the same. This turned her from wanting our son to have the Russian citizenship to her wanting to get naturalised. Part of her identity got simply crushed.

  2.  @smichastine  you need a visa. I applied for a Russian visa, it takes time, money and effort. Not like the EU with its open borders

  3. As a German, one sees the historic parallels of 1930 Germany and todays Russia: the hate, the militarisation of the country (school kids in Russia are trained on weapons by the military), the total control of the media.
