John Bull Well, unlike the UK, Greece did not break international law.
16
It was the EU constantly warning about NI in the Brexit process, making it top 1 priority in the negotiations. It were the Brexiters saying there is nothing to worry about.
14
John Bull Dublin`s constant rhetoric? They did they over 20 years ago. It is only the Unionists threatening violence.
12
@lynetteedwards7008 So? She was a minor, and therefor it is illegal. Or are you really arguing that sex trafficking minors should be legal when they agree to it?
12
The Queen has personally interfered in UK politics to block any legislation against her interest, as it is her right to do so. The Guardian had an interesting piece about it last year.
10
@lynetteedwards7008 What you do sounds pretty much like victim blaming. How dare she sues someone who sexually abused her as a minor! He is a royal, doesnt she know?
10
John Bull So why did the government agree to the protocol then? You are aware that the EU was willing to agree to an extension, the negotiations were ongoing, until the UK decided to proceed on its own? Now the negotiations are binned. The UK tries to blackmail the EU. Simple as that. The UK did not even implement the necessary infrastructure to make the protocol work, to then claim it doesnt. What is logic is that? Sabotaging and then claiming it has to be changed?
8
John Bull internal market law, containing a clause which was in breach with the withdrawal agreement, and thereby breaking the treaty as they did not act in good faith. Already the intention was a breach.
6
@lloydnaylor6113 of course. How do you think those goods come to the Uk? They are imported via Rotterdam and than distributed all over Europe. UK ports are too small to handle trade, the Uk needs EU ports.
5
@wolfiewolf1468 so why were a 100 French applications accepted immediately after French threats? And how do you rebuild UK fishing industry with nowhere to sell the catch?
5
@lloydnaylor6113 they say its not worth the trouble. And it isn’t the EUs job to ensure the Uk is able to trade, nor is it the EUs responsibility to compensate for UKs inability to take care of itself.
4
NATO, WTO, UNO, all not Nations, still their agreements apply.
4
@PanglossDr queens consent. Read the guardian article about it you want to know more (published 7th feb 2021). The queen personally blocked legislation that would have forced her to publish her wealth.
4
@lynetteedwards7008 What did her mummy do? Dare to speak out against someone who sexually abused her as a minor?
4
Why were you shocked about the payout? When she wouldnt have accepted it and lost the court case (possible, especially how twisted the US System is), she would have to pay the legal fees of both parties, which can rise into the hundred thousands. So would you have risked it? Taking 500k, or risking being in debt for the rest of your life?
4
Heid The Ba' so the UK has done nothing so far. All right. For your information: the law that mussels from B waters are not allowed to be sold by third countries into the EU is from 2008. no new rule. Farage was the representative for the UK in the EU Parliament when this rule passed, so blame him for not opposing it. Furthermore, the Uk can start selling them again the second they clean them, like any other third country. Brexit means Brexit, remember? A non member gets less access to the EU than a member. Simple
4
@Gambit771 Because the UK signed a treaty giving the EU the right to do exactly that?
4
@Sam-qn4ep the EU Never invoked article 16.
3
In the meantime, on fishing licence after the other is handed out to the French.
2
@barryhill1044 Long term thinking: destroy UK fishing today and take the hit, no competition tomorrow.
2
@0penminds for fishing.
2
They do? EU started two legal processes as the UK is in breach of the agreement and failed to implement controls in the Irish Sea?
2
@billycaspersghost7528 article 16 was never triggered by the EU, they only considered it for a few hours.
2
@Gambit771 the deal is unfair? So what, almost every international treaty is. An irrelevant category. How did the EU force the Uk to accept the deal? There was neither a treat of military action, nor bribery, no hostages were taken. Pacta sunt servanda. I wrote before the election that Johnson is an idiot, too stupid to understand what he signs. So is Frost, as he is the one who negotiated this deal. Blame them for betraying the UK, do not blame the EU for doing its job: getting a deal as much in favour of their members as possible.
2
@adrianrouse5148 Brussels isn’t silent. Eu commissioner for fishing has stated support for France.
1
@PanglossDr What do you mean, by what authority? It is the law. In the UK. Any legislation that interferes with the Queens business has to be put in front of her before being put in front of parliament. It is called Queens consent.
1
Even saying that its illegal, but still wanting to do it.
1
@jhanes3791 of course you can pick and chose who you sue.
1
Sad that people like Epstein and his friends now have a harder time?
1
Heid The Ba' how?
1
John Bull if the EU would have breached anything, the UK would have Süd- them.
1
Heid The Ba' what kind of barriers. I have read nothing of that sorts. What has the Uk done?
1
@gavinhill3164 the EU was never about to implement checks. The second the idea came up it was already rejected.
1
@wildbull5722 there is no Germany Bank?
1
@wildbull5722 What is Germany bank? It cant be one of the top 5 german banks, as I know them. Why is this bank relevant?
1
@wildbull5722 I did my own research. No bank of the name Germany bank exists.
