  1. I advice you to check countries which have minorities of another language in their borders. They usually have some kind of language act. It is not silly, but one of the most important features of ones culture. If you want to destroy someone’s culture, forbid their language (seems familiar?). Therefor, the first step to recognise someone’s heritage is to recognise their language. Language is not silly, but the most fundamental issue.

  2. Switzerland translates all its laws in four languages, too. Including a Language that is only spoken by 60000 people.
