Before I further engage, would you give me your definition of socialism? Because as I understand it, and the majority of my family experienced it (USSR/DDR), socialism means oppression, poverty and injustice.

Scholz and Starmer share a lot of similarities. But Scholz has his party backing him, and he is cleverer on political issues. Also, German political landscape is different. Germans want Boring.

@georgebodley8068 not for everybody. If you go to the US, you are a socialist if you want universal healthcare. It is a term used to describe policies that are social, not socialist. So I always ask before.

Private schools: There was a ruling by German court recently that a school loses its charitable status if it is: Not affordable for the majority of the population This isn’t compensated by scholarships on significant scale to equalise students backgrounds. Maybe this would be a reasonable way forward?

@maureenharris8255 every politician gets targeted. But it either sticks or it doesn’t. Corbyn made it rather easy for everything to stick.

@maureenharris8255 so he was the wrong leader. Politics is not fair, but the opposite. If you are not able to counter such lies, if people believe such lies about you, you are the wrong person to lead. It is a dirty business. Corbyn was not suited for it.
