@davetravis5399 Your knowledge of German health care is rather weak. AOK is one of many statutory health insurances in Germany, all offer equal services and cost the same (% of your wage). You can change them anytime you like for no cost. Of course ambulances are covered. 90% of the German population is covered by an AOK style insurance, and it provides better service than the NHS.

@davetravis5399 My issue with the NHS over the Bismarck model (German/French style health care): it is far more depended on who is in charge in government. In Germany, the federal government has rather limited influence on health care matters. As German health care is not financed via tax, its funding can not be cut so easily and secretly like it happened in the UK.
