@trashcan4thesoul Elderly people usually have old renting contracts, so their rents can not increase. Being a slave to your landlord or the bank you got the loan from to buy a flat, what is the difference?

@cerebralcaustic You just have proven you have no clue how the German system works. Unlike systems like the UK or USA, german health care is not paid by taxes. You pay a certain amount of your income (about 8%) to your insurance company, and are covered. German health care costs half of the US system, and brings better result. Simple.

True, the Zoe is also around for a decade. So the statement that Tesla had the market for its own is simply wrong.
12
@shadowbits-x64 So you are anti constitution?
12
Boeing had its most successful run under an accountant. The important part is not the profession of once leader, but the leader listen to all professions under him/her and come to a balanced conclusion.
8
@George-q6p The A320 is 20-30 years younger than the 737. Thats a huge difference.
7
@migelprager1097 French car manufactures are placed 9th and 10th. So while there are not leading, they are up there.
6
You can be profitable and deliver save aircrafts. Boeing did it for decades. Airbus still does it. But if you switch safety and long term profitability for short term, this is what happens.
6
@TheBooban Ever been to a european city? You need a small car, because many roads originate from pre car times and are too small to handle big cars (or what US American see as medium). Furthermore, many countries in Europe are of similar wealth than the US, and actually spend more money on cars.
4
@beachcrow FSD works anywhere? So why is Tesla still stuck on level 2?
4
@yms9829 VW is a special case: Partly government owned, and worker Unions actually have the power to kick out the CEO. And Diss was stupid to openly challenge them unprovoked.
4
They are still at least 10 years away from being able to compete (not to underestimate China, but the gap is still huge)
4
You say 17% of all children born this year were malformed. This would be the biggest scandal in medical history. Why cant I find anything? Why are you unable to name the vaccine, the year, the policy, the company?
3
@DigSamurai a vehicle that loses parts while driving due to insufficient glue is not one of the safest trucks on the road, far from it.
3
@DigSamurai Tesla had to recall ALL Cybertrucks. How is this an individual media account?
3
@tripzero0 why does every truck expect the cybertruck has a steel frame? Because steel is superior against aluminium. While aluminium deteriorates with every use, meaning it can withstand smaller and smaller loads, steel does not. For that reason, EU regulation states: every component in a truck relevant needs to be made of steel or, if another material is used, it needs to be proven to be as good as steel. Tesla did not prove it. If you are interested in this topic, I will link you a detailed video

@emilsohn1671 the ID3 was a software disaster, and if you compare the looks, Renault Megane just looks better, higher quality in the interior.
2
@emilsohn1671 ps: Hyundai is really on point with their EVs currently, I agree.
2
@suntzu1409 The brand Apple (iPhone).
2
The XLR is huge. A totally new market segment, and Boeing has nothing to get a piece.
2
Nuclear reactors are the worst for complementing renewables. They are too slow in increasing or decreasing output.
2
@austinzizzi1142 this is simply untrue. The human eyes are superior to cameras, and the human brain is superior to a computer. And no one drives on their eyes alone, but all senses. Why do you think police cars have sirens?
2
@austinzizzi1142 only it doesn’t. Simple test. Sit in a Tesla with Bad weather. Look outside the window. Look at the Camera screen. Oh my, your I sees more!
2
It is not 800 Euros, but 14.6% of your wage, capped at a maximum of around 400 Euros paid by the employer and 400 Euros paid by the employee. NHS is in a far worse situation than German health service, as it is paid by taxes. And the government reduced the money the NHS got significantly.
2
What make you think closing McD reduces the consumption of junk food? Will just be a different brand.
2
It is 8% of your wage, and $800 is the maximum.
2
@billstapleton1084 I am certain you are lying. There is no German vaccine scandal with 17% malformation in the 1980. Yes, German doctors earn less in Germany. But they also have no student debt.
2
@emilsohn1671 read your previous comment, I suspect we agree on most points. Thanks for your effort, I enjoyed reading it.
1
@emilsohn1671 I have no experience with Chinese cars, therefor I can add nothing to that topic. Toyota is an odd one: pioneering the hybrid, but then going full Hydrogen. Apparently they misjudged (which I find sad, I like the hydrogen concept). French I only have experience with Renault, I like their cars. I hope the Megane is a success. Tesla: well, they are always there for a surprise. When it is about EV technology, I say Tesla and Hyundai are currently in the lead.
1
@suntzu1409 nothing. It is about the concept, the Philosophy of the company of Apple. Stylish, expensive…
1
Every system can be improved. But money is an issue, you would have to increase the health care contributions to finance that, and I am not certain if there is a majority for this.
1
The second you work in Germany you are insured, as well as all EU citizens.
1
Canada has a completely different system than Germany.
1
@austinzizzi1142 because human eyes are far superior. Such a dumb question. I could also ask you how one computer today can be more powerful than 100 computers from the 1980s. Because one is far better than the other. And the argument goes: combine Lidar with cameras, it is superior to just cameras.
1
@ms1007901 eyes are not cameras. They are much better than cameras.
1
Well, Comac is still at least a decade behind (their yearly production capacity is below Airbus monthly output, not to mention their heavy reliance on western Tech). Embraer, do they have something in the pipeline to compete?
1
In Germany, the amount you have to pay is a fixed percentage of your wage. By that you, your spouse and your children are covered. If you do not earn enough or are unemployed, the government will cover insurance costs. Germany also has a social system which provides, in case of unemployment or other reasons, housing costs, and 446 Euros per month to cover for costs like food, clothing...
1
@sheep4521 It might be a surprise for you, but there are non western junk food restaurants in Russia (I really liked the Russian chain serving pancakes, but I forgot the name). Furthermore, if you take a look at the general Russian cuisine, it is neither to be considered healthy nor an improvement over McD (even if you dont consider the absurd amounts of alcohol consumed).
1
German health care covers basic dental, and an additional dental insurance cost around $10-20 a month. Create an working health care system before telling how your imaginary one will be so much better than an existing one.
1
A better smartphone has LiDAR.
1
I hope it would not blow up as regularly as their rockets.
1
@stfustfu7765 you are wrong here, for several reasons. 1. Taxes go to the government. 2. You can chose your health care provider. They have different offerings 3. You can also go private, which is a completely different system. Your contribution are then based on your selected plan, not your wage anymore. By core definition, those are not taxes.
1
@tripzero0 the Cybertruck is not legal because the aluminium frame is inferior to steel and is therefor prohibited. Innovation is not making products worse.
1
US trucks and SUVs would not fit in most European cities, way to big.
