@survivorsurvivor8704 so? Ukrainian air defence capabilities are increasing. And Russian stockpile of guided missiles is depleting. Wasting valuable resources for no political or military gain
66
@ecksdee1637 no, GDP PPP is meaningless. Russias living standard is well below Italy’s.
18
@julianshepherd2038 it is rather similar to rocket science. Managing highly explosive substances in unfavourable conditions, pressure control, fluid control…
17
@johnny_eth only the Abrahams, Leo2 is not a gas guzzler.
15
@johnny_eth also, when Ukraine is able to handle the Gepard, they can handle anything.
14
@Wahrheitsbringer because Ukraine was invaded by Russia 2014, when NATO membership was not part of the constitution.
13
@krasavchik8714 not even China dares to try that.
13
martin stone what does the average YouTuber earn compared to the average phd holder? Not even a competition. In Russia, your income after finishing your degree in STEM is around $300-500 (before 24th feb 2022). If you live in Moscow, this only pays your rent
8
@sircoloniser5454 that was before the age of nukes. Furthermore, Russia attacks just as often.
8
100 Billion Euros, not USD. Furthermore, change of the constitution is already passed and the money is now there, so start believing
4
@A-Rd A close relative of mine finished her physics degree in Russia in 2019 and got $4007month salary, her boyfriend in IT with a couple of years of experience earned $600 (2019 exchange rates). I got similar numbers from other people I know (not Moscow/St. P.). Where do you got the 1k number from?
4
@bpeper1365 what right has Russia to demand control of a foreign country. None. Don’t shift blame.
3
@JetfireQuasar No, Spain already said it would welcome in Scotland, if they gain their independence in accordance to the UK constitution. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-spain-politics-scotland/spain-would-not-oppose-future-independent-scotland-rejoining-eu-minister-idUKKCN1NP25P
3
@wtice4632 most elite forces crushed, been pushed back on all fronts, while the economy is contracting and internal protests erupt.
2
@Mediaevalist You become President of the EU Commission by being appointed by the council and elected by the EU parliament. Both happened.

Like the Irish economy went down the drain when it left the UK? Wait, it is now wealthier than the UK...
1
@maxpower1550 Yes, I was talking about GDP per capita. No, the reason why UK`s GDP per capita is smaller than Ireland`s is not due to the population size. USA and Germany for example both have higher GDP per capita than the UK with bigger populations.
1
Max Morris yes, i Know that. And this is the reason why nominal GDP does only tell you how big a nations economy is. If you want to know how rich a country is, you require the GDP per capita. And by that measure, Ireland is richer than the UK, but the UK is richer than India.
1
@maxpower1550 I brought you an example of another country that became independent of the UK: Ireland. Its nominal GDP did not decease, but increase, which resulted in having a higher GDP per capita than the UK. So a decrease in Scottish nominal GDP is not a given, as other examples in the past proof the opposite.
1
@maxpower1550 Ironically, due to Brexit, a good part of the UK service sector which requires access to the EU could move to Scotland if they become independent (some of them currently move to Dublin, similar scenario is possible). You already mentioned natural resources, but also tourism (ok, currently not an option...), but a quarter of Scotland`s GDP is still in construction and manufacturing, and they have a strong stance in electronics. There is no automatism, but Scotland has a lot of potential.
1
@maxpower1550 As the UK is highly centralized, this only applies if the central government has an interest in Scotland, and tries to find compromise between Scotland and England. Currently, Scottish wishes are completely ignored and policies harmful to the Scottish economy are implemented.
1
Sending a Nuke ends russia. No country in the world would dare to do business with them anymore. We are talking a full embargo. No major country (USA, China, India) has any interest in breaking the nuclear taboo.
1
I would advice you not to speak to the natives of those countries, as they were almost wiped out by the British colonists.
1
Well, Clinton got a couple of million more votes than Trump, so the polls were correct...
1
I am careful with Zeihan. He is rather careless with his numbers and sources, using outdated (by sometimes two decades) information
1
@David-gy6fv since when does Germany has a prime minister?
1
@ac_pejk3113 Russian flock mighty? Their army is being pushed back and their most elite force (1. guard tank army) fled.
1
@ac_pejk3113 russia can’t become stronger, as it has no means to replace what they lost, both in equipment and men
1
@ac_pejk3113 I don’t just believe that, I know, as part of my family lives in Russia. The country is falling apart as we speak.
1
@amritanand9933 because NATO is a distraction, Putin does not care about nato. He simply wants to rule over Ukraine
1
Ireland fighting for its own interest and not for that of a foreign country? How dare they!
1
@trilary cumpton Because in the EU, you are not governed by others (that would be the UK), but are part of the government.
1
@lesliescottw Remember CETA, when a regional Belgium parliament blocked it? Reality proves you wrong.
1
We can also start where the oil revenue went (not to Scotland...), but this was not the topic of the video, was it?
1
@Pvt_Badger0916 It was you who tried to change the topic, but very well: By the act of devolution, all powers that come back from the EU due to Brexit have to go to the Scottish government. But Westminster refuses to do so, which is a breach of the contract and shows how much London values Scotland and its rights. Also, Scotland has no voice in the Brexit process. Its implications have enormous consequences, but the government in London refuses to let Scotland participate. It is a pure English decision what happens. The last general election results also proof that support for the current government is abysmal. Especially Johnson, who occasionally insults Scots, is so hated there that he did not even participated in a Scottish Tory party conference. It is also a clear message to Scottish people that their MPs are harassed in parliament. And these are just the most recent points.
1
The UK will be back in the EU, piece by piece.
1
@FOLIPE russia is threatening the west with nukes. In Russian TV, nuking London and Berlin is brought up regularly.
1
Irish reunification? I am certain it will happen.
1
No. In the UK, Scotland has to follow England. In the EU, Scotland would have veto rights and a seat in the council and the commission, equal to Germany and any other member.
1
@iancypes5911 Read the EU rules: the commission is appointed by the council (of which Merkel is a member), and elected by the parliament. Furthermore, it was Macron who wanted van der Leyen. Germany may be the biggest nation of the EU, but unlike with England in the UK, it does not hold any majority in any chamber. It always needs support of other members to get its wishes. So if Germany get its wishes time and time again, that means it is quiet skilled in convincing other nations that these are in their interest, too. Diplomacy is key in this. I would also be very interested in one example, where Germany made the EU do something against the majority of other members.
1
@lesliescottw They got a seat in both the commission and council?
1
@Not-Ap Yes, it is. Because unlike the UK, in the EU you get veto rights and a seat on both the commission and council.
1
The rest of the world (except China) is piss poor.
1
What about Northern Ireland? There is a international peace agreement, supported by the US, that gives them the right to reunify. Furthermore, the UK government already agreed that Brexit will not apply to Northern Ireland in economic terms, as it will remain in the EU economic area, resulting in a custom border.
1
Russian speakers are not Russians. 75% of Russian speaking Ukrainians demand no concessions and the Ukraine to fight till they got their whole territory back.
1
No. Russia will lose, with nukes or without.
1
@danielduncan6806 due to general mobilisation, Ukrainian man power is now greater than Russias. As long as Russia does not declare war and mobilise its reservists, it is outnumbered.
1
@tomricc69 your statement is incorrect. Top 10 manufacturing countries in the world: 1. China 2. USA 3. Japan 4. Germany 5. India 6. South Korea 7. Italy 8. France 9. United Kingdom 10. Indonesia Russia has even less manufacturing output than Spain (Source: Global Manufacturing Scorecard, 2018, West and Langsang)
