  2.  @jesusislordsavior6343  That's because you have an impoverished view of "symbol". The word "symbolic" means "to bring together", which Christ Himself says He is here to do. To heal us and to make us whole. To gather together the things that are scattered. "Diabolos" means to separate or rip apart, Christ is in opposition to this. He came to conquer this fragmentation. The fragmentation begins in each and every one of us.

  3. Ok... I have asked this multiple times and it's something that is driving me nuts. No one mentioned covid... or that it would be spread. If anyone got covid, No one talked about it. If covid was so deadly that the mandates were... mandatory... why with thousands of people in weather that usually spreads repertory viruses, were the hospitals not overrun and people dropping dead in the streets? The vaccines work? Then enough people are vaccinated to lift mandates. The vaccines don't work? Then people have enough antibodies and/or the virus isn't as deadly as they think so it's time to lift mandates. I'm American and watching this and so confused how it got spun into antivax when it was clear what they were asking for from the beginning. Trudeau is power hungry and this is ridiculous.

  4.  @doalux  Good grief, son. Not everyone that got a lobotomy became brain-dead either. It actually WORKED for some people, which is why so many people wanted it for their children and/or family members. Legitimate science presented at the time promoted it as being a HEALTHY thing to do. Look up the story on Rosemary Kennedy. What I'm saying is that people jump on the "next big medical thing". Like the whole snake oil salesman deal. I'm not saying everyone who is legitimately Trans is wrong for wanting to go down the road of transitioning. I am saying, however, that the FAD that it has become is unhealthy socially. Science was different back then and I'm sure we as a species and society will look back on this with better science and perspective and correct ourselves just like we did with the whole lobotomy debacle.

  5.  @doalux  I would also like to add that while not ending up brain-dead, there are SOME (that means "not all") people that are CONSCIOUSLY regretting the decision of making these PERMANENT changes to their bodies.

  9. I just thought of this... though I thought of it a long time ago and it was a small piece of the puzzle that finally helped me see God. And some of you can disagree if you like... but as a Christian, you are commanded to keep your good deeds secret. I was born in 1981, and for as long as I can remember, people have been engaged in attention economy. That is only magnified now by the internet. My point is, the people you HEAR and SEE are the ones that brag and boast and quarrel. I think that it being a "narrow path" and that we are called to be meek and kind and humble... to keep our good deeds a secret are why it is hard to find an exemplary Christian. Everyone else is so noisy while the meek are busy inheriting the earth.

  10. Also... how many of us blame God for the actions of people? When we see things like the actions of Westborough Baptist church, of course we will find God abhorrent if we are watching the actions of His followers... but we are ALL broken... that is something I often fail to remember.
