  2. Ideology determines morality. To be precise, the Trump election, and the fight against marriage equality before it, were not about policy differences. They were/are about hate.

  3. No, it's more about supporting only heterosexual marriage and opposing marriage equality, and, more importantly, having a problem with gay people for who they are, regardless of the source of this animus.

  4. That's not a valid comparison. One's sexual orientation is an intrinsic (and harmless) part of whom and what one is, as opposed to (theoretically malleable) behaviors and policies of people like Trump.

  5. That would have made Trump worse. Empirically, it results in children growing up and continuing the cycle, towards children, spouses/partners, and others. They learn that violence is the answer.
