  19. They were on the road for years, a group of marginalized people in a marginal form of entertainment. They bonded, and maybe they decided that the world owes them something. With that said, while I have not seen the full movie since it came out, it looks like they don't outwardly display emotion as their comrades are caught (and sometimes killed).

The Poodle Lady is just making these assumptions about people, as she's angry at a world that (she feels) has always ostracized her. Think of Daria (or Holden Caulfield) sneering at the "phonies," but taking it in a much more toxic direction!

  60. This scene, and the movie in general, get more interesting when one realizes that missiles are heavy. Those things would have to be just glorified fireworks for the penguins to be able to carry them (not to mention the backpacks)! The casualty estimate makes no sense. Cobblepot is too loopy to grasp it, but who else was even in a position to think it through?

  78.  @Commander_Shepard.  Good point. Groupthink is the converse of teamwork; everyone is unwilling/afraid to contradict the leader, so everyone goes along with it. It takes a shock to break the hold it has on people. (Plus, the plan is ridiculous. Although she gives that wild casualty estimate, missiles are *heavy*, and those packs would be also. They have to be glorified fireworks!)
