@markadler8968 Your statement is still an exaggeration, claiming that the whole city is a homeless encampment, or words to that effect. Thankfully, the City of L.A. saw a recent dip in homelessness, but of course we don't know if that's a trend.

@lablaine1981 The cities hardly burned, don't exaggerate. And no, after the upswing in homicides during and shortly after the pandemic, rates levelled off and have declined, regressing towards the mean. Nearly all of the Great Crime Decline that began in the early '90s is still with us.

@themanthelegend7048 Not this again. Republican-run cities, and/or those in areas that elect Republicans at other levels, are often much worse than the places you're thinking of. Consider Mobile, Fresno, Bakersfield, etc. Plus, relevant policies are made at the state level. Also, "sanctuary city" has nothing to do with any of this. Migrants, no matter their status, commit less crime than US-born citizens.
