  19.  @carolm.4214  I was under that impression as well. However, not everyone drives. Among other reasons, a lot of people don't have voter ID. There's also the problem of voting taking place on a weekday, insufficient polling places in certain areas, lack of transportation, etc. It's a solution in search of a problem. There is next to no evidence that voter impersonation is occurring. Besides, it just cancels out the vote that the imposter could cast anyway. Also, some states vote entirely by mail, and there's no problem.

  20.  @carolm.4214  There's no comparison. Lines would be very long otherwise, and that's a deterrent to many people: Lots have dependents that they cannot leave lone for long periods. Others have health issues that prevent them from waiting that long. I could go on, but note that some states vote entirely by mail, with no problems.
