  2. Note also that these retaliatory tariffs are just as foolish. If your trading partner puts rocks in its harbor, thus making trade more difficult, that's no reason for you to do the same. Drop all tariffs unilaterally. Singapore did it.

  3. It crossed my mind that had he said that, his apologists would have tried to claim that he was referring to the Woodstock anniversary concerts in 1979. Amusingly enough, he probably had fewer attendees than at Woodstock '89, which was spread over three days but was totally spontaneous, with no (initial) promotion at all!

  11. A lot of Trumpists have Orwell references in their bios on Twitter and such. They don't seem to realize that Orwell was a socialist and an Antifa icon, who survived a bullet through the throat battling against Franco's fascists in Spain.
