@cornpop7176 Also, no, he was not legally carrying. Wisconsin law forbids people of his age from possessing or carrying firearms except under some very specific circumstances, none of which applied to that night in Kenosha.

Apparently, Castro really played mind games with them, pitting them against one another. They were all in it together, and they want the best for one another, but they still have some unresolved issues between them. They didn't form a sisterhood.

For one thing, it's usually impossible to say which elements were responsible for which property destruction- Antifa, other activist groups, and especially apolitical lumpen. For another, in a world in which property is valued more highly than people are, political vandalism (property destruction) is a valid tactic. I don't agree with all of the targets, but I'm not about to be one of those pansy "protest police" who gets on others' cases about that stuff. As a matter of fact, Rosenbaum (who wasn't even an activist) was to blame for a lot of what happened. He never should have been let out of the psychiatric ward (but of course such care is lacking in this country). You can see in the video footage that he's yelling nonsense (including using the "N word" towards white people) at Rittenhouse & others, and you can see Anthony Huber holding Rosenbaum back, trying to calm him. It seems Rosenbaum and others were angry at Rittenhouse & others for their armed intimidation, and then Rosenbaum broke free, charged, and the rest is history. Sidebar: Quite a few more shots were fired at different times during the incident, but nobody seems to know where, or by whom. It seems pretty important, but it's a mystery.

@cornpop7176 He did not in fact put out a dumpster fire. After shooting Rosenbaum, he did not do what one is supposed to do in a case of defensive gun usage. Even one of the militia members stated that all of the people pursuing Rittenhouse after the first shooting believed that they were trying to stop an active shooter.

@cornpop7176 The state didn't pursue the gun charges, feeling that they had no need to do so. Yes, he was carrying an extinguisher at one time, but he didn't use it on any fires.

@billmurray4071 That's beside the point. Not only were the police some distance away, he was also certainly liable to open fire again, and of course I'm not about to put any trust in the police to do the right thing.

@birdfish86 Calm down for a moment, and please learn how to use paragraphs. I'm referring to the pictures of Rittenhouse hanging out with the Proud Boys. You saw that, right? Huber was charged with domestic abuse, and later with disorderly conduct (a misdemeanor), but was not a "convicted woman beater" as the Facebook copypasta claims. Grosskreutz was also not a convicted felon. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, but the charges were dropped. He had other run-ins with the law, but nothing at all major. Besides, all of that, along with the property destruction, is beside the point.

@Carlton_Wilson No, the fascists are the Proud Boys and people like that, whom Rittenhouse was hanging out with before his trial. After the fact, nobody could figure out why Rosenbaum was in the streets that night. He had no history of activism, and his own behavior was alarming everyone (you can see Anthony Huber, among others, trying to restrain him). He never should have been let out of the psych ward. Huber wasn't (as far as I can tell) part of any organized group (although Grosskreutz was/had been), and he & Grosskreutz got shot trying to take down someone they believed to be an active shooter.

Dan Stanley It's spelled "Democrats," and no, nobody told the police to stand down. I didn't say that "he was just walking around with a gun." He was not, however, legally allowed to do that as a 17-year-old in Wisconsin.

This is incoherent. Grosskreutz was armed for self-defense. As we've seen a lot of political violence in recent years, that's a sensible decision. Yes, his CCW license had expired, but that's neither here nor there. There were lots of cops in the streets that night. Their own actions are, rightly, under scrutiny. They certainly didn't stand down. Also: Peoria? What? Also also: I didn't bring up the Kenosha shooting. Someone else did.

@theeater1756 Not so. He saw a vehicle with some flames in the back, and he approached it with the extinguisher when Rosenbaum approached. Rosenbaum was at an earlier confrontation between protesters and some of the (for lack of a better term) militiamen. He was acting completely unhinged (because he was seriously mentally disturbed, among other much worse things), and the other protesters (including Anthony Huber) were trying to control him. Thus, he recognized Rittenhouse, started to chase him, and the rest is history.
