  3.  @rinsedpie  The empirical evidence is clear that policing is not one of the more dangerous jobs in the US. That stands to reason; most of the time, police arrive after a crime has been committed, and take reports. This is slightly off the subject, but the Supreme Court has ruled that police are under no obligation to protect anybody.
