  3.  @olesilverbastard9830  That's exactly what it was. They nearly prevented certification of the election, came very close to lynching lawmakers, and would have caused a constitutional crisis. It was part of a larger string of attempts by Trump to stay in power, as we're learning day-by-day.

It's also beside the point; civil unrest is one thing, but a coup attempt (or at least a putsch) is another!

They came very close to lynching lawmakers, preventing certification of the election, and causing a constitutional crisis. There was heavy fighting all around the building, preserved on video by the attackers themselves. No, they could not have succeeded in and of themselves, but they came very close to lynching lawmakers, preventing certification of the election, and triggering a constitutional crisis. In the last few days, more things have been leaked from DOJ and the Pentagon, showing how this was just part of Trump's attempts to stay in power.
