@benfrank1583 I was just referring to numbers (your 99.9%). As for leftist gun owners, why are you surprised? The video I sent you was made by the Socialist Rifle Association. Karl Marx famously said that "Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary." His rivals on other parts of the left (such as the anarchists) all agreed with him, and that has held constant up to the present day. I was about to start naming examples, until I realized how long that list would be. Armed minorities are harder to oppress.

Not 99.9 percent, as for one thing the District has more police per capita than possibly anywhere else on the planet. They're all over the place. I'm not defending DC gun law, as a (leftist) gun owner, but understand that it stems from the Crack Wars of the 80s/90s, before the Great Crime Decline that is thankfully still with us. A neoliberal capitalist party certainly can't be trusted to deal with crime effectively (although they can respond to pressure, if there's enough; getting rid of lead in substandard housing is crucial). As for cops, as the SCOTUS has ruled repeatedly, they're under no obligation to protect anybody; they spend most of their time serving & protecting the ruling class, and at times they're the most dangerous gang in the city. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAtBdRjfXKo

@benfrank1583 Indeed, the term for "types" of leftists is "tendencies," but it's usually bourgeois (or proletarian, to be fair) liberals who are opposed to arms, not leftists.
