@LRoach79 Get off the conspiracy theories.

Yeah, the videos show lots of heavy brawling, the attackers getting very close to catching lawmakers & staff, etc. What are people trying to prove by pointing out the footage that doesn't depict that?

It wasn't a set up, and yes, there is such a law. Also, you can swear on the internet.

@nonotever-cu3nr The US.

That's a wildly false equivalency.

@kordi7888 Trump and company helped to incite it, hence the jurisprudence we're seeing. As for allowing it, Trump sat and watched it unfold for 187 minutes.

@kordi7888 The attacks on Officer Sicknick helped to trigger his strokes (the coroner/M.E. made that clear). One of the Trumpists died after she swallowed a bunch of amphetamines and charged into action, possibly also being trampled while holding a "Don't Tread On Me" flag. Two other Trumpists excited themselves into one stroke and one heart attack, both fatal. Four of the cops later committed suicide (along with at least two of the arrestees), and dozens of the police have life-altering injuries. The attackers got within a few yards and a few moments of lynching lawmakers and staff, preventing certification of the election, and causing a constitutional crisis. Babbitt was breaching the second-to-last layer of defense ahead of the people trapped in the gallery.

@minilogoguy18 There's a big difference between the civil unrest of 2020 and the coup attempt of 2021.

Indeed, it was much worse than that!
2
@ellierivera5519 That's a canard.
2
@nonotever-cu3nr Indeed, it has nothing to do with what I think.

@PictureMaker22 There is absolutely no evidence for a setup. What, somebody somehow tricked a huge mob of MAGAts to storm the Capitol, led by organized, prepared groups outfitted for combat with objectives in mind?

@ellierivera5519 Carlson stated in court that he's not to be taken seriously. Neither Pelosi nor anyone else had a hand in orchestrating an attack by many thousands of people who made it clear that they wanted to kill her.
1
@Handsoffthekids On the contrary. It's not difficult to pay attention to mountains of evidence, most of it coming from administration insiders and the attackers themselves!

@vajona2495 Lots of people got in trouble in the 2020 riots. Most of the violence was inflicted by cops, vigilantes, accelerationists, and apolitical lumpen.

He's under indictment for this, among several other things!

@nonotever-cu3nr Yep.

@MrBeetsGaming It's the same as with guerillas- they're like fish that need a sea in which to swim, and enough of the population has to provide that sea. The people who did things like he did made it possible for the attackers to come very, very close to their objective. If you look at the USA Today database of all of the arrestees and their subsequent jurisprudence, you'll see quite a few getting off easily.

Indeed. Had this been a left-wing attack, especially featuring large numbers of people-of-color, the cops would have just started shooting long before anyone got close.
