  3.  @JUNGLESTRIKEOFDOOM  We don't have general lawlessness and disorder. The peak of crime in the US occurred around 1990 or so. For the most part, the Great Crime Decline that followed is still with us. You know how TV news works. Don't live in fear.

  4. This sort of thing was far more common in earlier eras. Lurid TV reporting gives the wrong impression.
