  4. In a lot of civil conflicts, militaries have fractured, joining the various sides. With that said, I have no idea how many countries' militaries have oaths (or did at the times I'm thinking of) like ours, and with policies like those you mention. I think about this specter of violence all the time, and the big uncertainty is what the military will do.

  12. The analysis here could have been a lot better. I can see a lot of people (non-MAGA conservatives, among many others!) being turned off by the things overlooked in this video. For one thing, I would say that this era of political violence in this country began with the Battle of Sacramento in 2016, after Trump's rise to prominence as a candidate, and the high visibility of the alt-right. The people in this video should have explicitly noted the contrast between the BLM/Floyd/etc. riots and J6, and they spent just a few seconds on rightist violence without giving any examples.
