Presidents have little control over inflation!
98
This isn't just unconstitutional, it's also an example of very Big Government!

If you're at all worried about the MAGAts, theocrats, Project 2025, etc., and you're not armed yet (in whatever form is feasible/comfortable for you), rectify that ASAP. Spread the word. Organize with people whom you trust. The other side is not fooling around.
28
@ggggloveking9419 This isn't a case of policy differences. Trumpism thrives on hate and bigotry.
21
@ashenwalker4622 See, among many other things, Project 2025.
21
@PeterFrikadelle If this is alarming to you (and it should be), and you're not armed yet (in whatever way is feasible/comfortable for you), rectify that ASAP. Organize with people whom you trust. Spread the word. The MAGATs are.
19
@janetlodia1756 Worst economy ever? You have no sense of history, apparently.
18
Elevated Access is an organization of volunteer private plane pilots who, for no charge and with no questions asked, fly women from states with abortion bans to states where they can get abortions, and back again. It's a great idea! Spread the word, and donate if you can.
18
@SubvertTheState More than that: One attacker was shot as she breached the penultimate line of defense before the people trapped in the gallery. Two attackers died of coronary problems, and another overdosed on amphetamines as she charged into battle (and also got trampled while carrying a "Don't Tread on Me" flag). Officer Sicknick's strokes were triggered by the damage he sustained that day (according to the coroner/M.E.). Four other cops killed themselves later, as have a couple of the arrestees.
16
@wyomingwatchman3360 To the extent that they do, one reason is stupid partisanship. Another is that heavy-handed measures like tariffs do increase prices for the majority of consumers. Also, "dims?" Grow up.
15
@MarkPedigo-by5xf That's beside the point. Trump doesn't value women's consent in any way, and his creepy threat of "protection" reflects that.
15
This is pretty significant, but "fatal" is hyperbolic. I think that it's irresponsible to use.
15
Pence preyed on their desire for theocracy.
14
Lots of women are ordering misoprostol from abroad. Also, miscarriages can be induced safely (but inadvisedly!) via supplements available at any drugstore. An early abortion (the vast majority) are indistinguishable from miscarriages, and nobody has to give medical staff any particular details, and nobody should ever talk to the police without an attorney. None of this is ideal, of course.
14
That's not the definition of insanity, although I realize that this is beside the point. I just wish people would stop repeating that.
14
@juanitacoleman-l6v Accountable for the crimes he's already been found guilty of, and then for the others with voluminous evidence, delayed thanks to his lawyers and his Justices.
13
@SatansBirdLawExpert Yeah, early abortions (the vast majority) are indistinguishable from miscarriages. A woman who induces said miscarriage (this can be done safely, although it's inadvisable, with things available at the local drug store) need not say anything at the hospital. There's no way that the authorities could investigate every miscarriage in the country.
13
@americangal9292 Please be specific.
13
True, and irrelevant.

12
There's no harm in not being born.
12
@cactustree505 Leaving aside crude measures like tariffs (that increase prices for consumers), inflation these days is a global problem with little connection to any particular President.
10
@Dizz-vd8df must *have
10
It is, in fact, reproductive care. Note also that embryos and fetuses haven't sprung off.
10
This may be a stupid question, but is there anything that the masses can do to put pressure on someone to make these trials happen already? Is he ever going to be in a courtroom facing criminal charges?

@Fearless.- No one minds not being born.
9
@SafetySpooon Not per capita.
9
@lIIlIIIlIIIIIIIllllIlIllllIIII Asylum-seekers are not undesirables. If the work permit process could be expedited, this whole situation would calm down.
9
That's the amount of money authorized under the Stafford Act. It's designed for immediate needs. More help arrives later. It was lower under Trump; Biden increased it. Republicans voted against more FEMA funding just a few days ago.
9
@basketballman1854 True, the system is indeed broken. The problem at the moment, however, is Trump's off-the-charts corruption and his party's intellectual debauchery.
9
Thankfully, it's not half of the country. It's quite a bit less than that.
8
@brentharrington9235 Human, yes. Person, no. That comes later.
8
@PaloDuro1021 Women's rights shouldn't be up to elections of legislators/governors in heavily gerrymandered states, or anywhere. Women should have the same rights, even in places where certain rights might be unpopular.
8
@PoliticallyHomeless1 That's a false equivalence. For one thing, there is no "far left" in anything approaching a position of power in the US. For another, rights are not matters of compromise.
8
@SpaceBethC131 Embryos aren't babies, and asking for asylum is perfectly legal. Also, it was Trump who cajoled Republicans into not supporting the recent border bill.
8
@SpaceBethC131 Is that an abortion reference? Embryos aren't babies.
8
@stoopidpursun8140 People criticize Islam all the time. Also, the comment did not mention religion at all.
8
@tamaramartin4015 There's that, but also, the state legislatures are horribly gerrymandered.
8
@brentharrington9235 Why do we say that killing is wrong? This debate doesn't get far because most people don't really look into that question. It's a question of personhood. You and I have this, newborns have this, but embryos and fetuses don't. I'm referring to the criteria that make killing wrong- sentience, the will to live, biological autonomy, and everything else that's taken away when a person is killed. There's no harm in not being born.
8
Once again, several of the attackers were caught with guns, rifles were stashed nearby, don't forget the explosives, and the attackers had thousands of melee weapons including blades, chemical sprays, and a huge number of blunt instruments. You know that.
8
@SubwayStreetvendorblocki-hn1wy What does "don't calm this your own conscience by weekend stuff" mean?
7
Odious debt falling on students is one way to cause severe economic problems. Inflation is a global problem with very little connection to any particular President. Tariffs, however, always cause prices to increase.
7
@aaronwilson8403 Embryos aren't children. Neither are fetuses. I do know the history of abortion (it goes back as far as recorded history does), and I do know quite a bit about Margaret Sanger. What are you trying to say?
7
Your experience might come in very handy very soon. I trust that you're equipped, if you catch my drift.
7
@sandylunas2815 Embryos and fetuses aren't babies.
7
@kahanakahuna1470 John Adams also made it clear in the Treaty of Tripoli (ratified by the Senate, and thus having the full force of a domestic law) that the US is in no way based on Christianity.
7
It's exasperating to see how many Republicans (and the like) are convinced that Trump was telling the truth, that the moderators were on Harris's side, etc.
7
@Jerry-tv4bg They didn't vote for Trump. They ruled that the law in question is a federal matter, not one for the states.
7
@lynsiebahlhorn2472 Abortion, immigration, Pelosi, migrants "taking" jobs, tariffs...
