Elevated Access is an organization of volunteer private plane pilots who, for no charge and with no questions asked, fly women from states with abortion bans to states where they can get abortions, and back again. It's a great idea! Spread the word, and donate if you can.

@SatansBirdLawExpert Yeah, early abortions (the vast majority) are indistinguishable from miscarriages. A woman who induces said miscarriage (this can be done safely, although it's inadvisable, with things available at the local drug store) need not say anything at the hospital. There's no way that the authorities could investigate every miscarriage in the country.

True, and irrelevant.

There's no harm in not being born.

@SubwayStreetvendorblocki-hn1wy What does "don't calm this your own conscience by weekend stuff" mean?

@evolutionistheflyingspaghe2702 My mother is pro-choice. That's how I know that I was wanted. Had she had an abortion rather than give birth to me, I just wouldn't exist. I wouldn't and couldn't ever know, nor mind, nor care.

Embryos aren't babies.

How so?

@evolutionistheflyingspaghe2702 No. Newborns have rudimentary (but completely genuine) personhood. They're no longer in a quasi-parasitic relationship with a host organism. They have consciousness. Someone can presumably be found to take care of them.

@evolutionistheflyingspaghe2702 Newborns have a consciousness, and again, someone can be found to take care of them. No, conception does not create an obligation. Note the "quasi" in "quasi-parasitic."

@evolutionistheflyingspaghe2702 Let's try again. I didn't say "conscience." I referred to "consciousness," which newborns have. No one else can take on the role of caring for a fetus; embryos and fetuses are dependent on a host, who might become an unwilling host. There's no moral judgment involved. You don't seem to know what the prefix "quasi" means. Parasites have to be of two different species, hence the "quasi."

@ValleyoftheRogue Most people resent pedantry, but I sometimes appreciate it. Thanks!
