@TonyGarrett-p1c Embryos and fetuses aren't children.

@reconjake You're mostly correct, but could you please use paragraphs? I'm a gun owner (from the hard left; you must know about the history of Appalachian miners & others defending themselves against goons hired by the capitalist mine owners), so don't get me wrong, but I'm curious if you have a problem of accidents/suicides/domestic violence involving firearms.

There's no harm in not being born.
2
There is no "wide open southern border." I wish that there was!
2
@Supersauce88 No, but the authorities wouldn't be putting so many people in custody if it was open. Also, it's legal to ask for asylum. There is no "first safe country" law, nor a requirement to request asylum at a port of entry.
2
@jasonfuller1001 It's more complicated than you, @near-zero, or anyone else is making it out to be. There are some very gun-friendly countries that have little gun crime.
1
@jasonfuller1001 I doubt that anywhere else has more guns than citizens, but as for gun-friendly countries, see some of the Nordic countries, Switzerland, the Czech Republic/Czechia, etc. Google the phrase "gun-friendly countries."
1
No, because there's no such thing as "fentonol." It's fentanyl, and most of it arrives via shipping; if brought in by land, it's mostly done by US citizens.
1
@linuxpatriot200 This is off the subject, but I don't want to see Ukraine defeated by a revanchist Russian regime.
1
@linuxpatriot200 It's not either/or. Also, keep in mind that asking for asylum is legal. There's no "first safe country" requirement, nor a requirement to ask for asylum at a port of entry.
1
@linuxpatriot200 Asking for asylum is a perfectly right way. The process is extremely difficult, by design. The most recent (as I type this) episode of the It Could Happen Here podcast, called "Why is ICE relocating migrants away from their lawyers?" is illuminating.
1
@under_90 *A lot*, not "alot."
1
Mayorkas is correct. Migrants, no matter their status, commit less crime than US-born citizens.
1
That's mostly done by local news channels. Those are local crime stories.
1
Don't let the MAGAts have all the firepower! Also, very few gun deaths involve long guns of any type (shotguns or rifles).
1
I'm a gun owner in large part because of the elements Trump has unleashed.
1
Thankfully, no. Crime is on the downswing, after a spike in homicides during/after the pandemic.

*whom

Mobile has a GOP mayor. The most dangerous parts of CA (Oakland is an outlier) are Fresno and Bakersfield, which are either run by Republicans or are in areas which elect lots of Republicans at higher levels.
1
@buddymckimmey3545 Yes, and partially because Antifa have lots of guns these days.
1
@DragQueenJesus Indeed; this teaches us that neoliberal capitalist parties, which are all that we have in power, are unable/unwilling to deal with such issues.
1
Climate? The condition of the planet on which we live should not be controversial in any way. There is no Planet B.
1
@pc4mlc451 That's not true.
1
@Talkbouit-bh5oh This is off the subject, but stop typing like that. Prince was entitled to it, but he's dead.
1
Wouldn't *have.
1
@joeybobbie1 No one can go to jail? Ridiculous. California (not the most liberal state) has a huge prison-industrial complex, partially due to Kamala Harris's career. With that said, crime rates are lowest in the quite liberal Northeast.
1
@joshgrove1042 Not this again. Yes, they're the real crime rates. Among other things, one of the crime data sources is the Crime Victimization Survey.
1
I'm a gun owner, mostly because of the political forces that Trumpism unleashed.
1
The Ukraine-NATO-Russia question has been brewing long before the current administration.
1
@joebloe923 CA has much less crime than the Deep South.
1
@joebloe923 NY doesn't rank too badly on crime, either.
1
@mikebrigs1218 NYC is not very dangerous.
1
@ryblack5032 Crime is worse in GOP-run states, in general. Most relevant policies (I'm not talking about guns per se) are made at the state level.
1
@mile_high_topher True. The lesson here is that neoliberal capitalist parties are unable/unwilling to address these problems.
1
@KanisoVanguard *you're
1
@under_90 *A part*, not "apart." Those are opposites!
1
@Supersauce88 One can't be apprehended until crossing anyway, by definition.
1
@Supersauce88 To the extent that that's true, it's irrelevant.
