  1. This doesn't change the big picture, but only a small number of these cases have involved jury trials. Most defendants have pled/pleaded guilty (as is the case in over 90% of criminal cases, although I don't know the percentage here), and some (dozens?) have been settled through bench trials (in front of only a judge who then rules, with no jury).

  2.  @ronreagan-x5w  Asking for asylum is legal. Also, migrants, no matter their status, commit less crime than US-born citizens.
