Don't talk to the police without an attorney.

@RaineStudio He pled down. Well over 90% of criminal cases end that way, never going to trial. This system punishes people too poor to go through the process of fighting the charges, even if they're using a public defender. Lots of people have other responsibilities (dependents etc.) that would be seriously compromised by going through the process.

@SalixNigra2 It apparently is a site where one can watch other people play video games (it sounds bizarre to me too). I don't know about the money part.
3
@Brother-Louis Do you realize what would happen if more cases went to trial? The plea bargain system is indeed terrible, inasmuch as it punishes people too poor/unavailable to go through a trial.
3
@MrWhitelightning73 People who, for whatever reason, have channels via which others watch them play video games.

@DarkEnergyHealer How do you know where he was born?
2
@IIRomoII He pled down. That's how it works. Everyone avoided a trial. Plea bargains occur over 90% of the time.

@greaterglider Remaining silent can save your life.
1
@fuzz6938 You've heard of the West Memphis Three, among others, right? Remain silent. We have that right for a reason.
1
@KevJ1247 Don't be disingenuous.

@ipathvvv Only a simpleton would park such a short distance from the crime scene, leave some evidence a very short distance from the car, and go to sleep. So, yes.
1
@BigDadGigaCHAD For being a simpleton?
1
@danielmann5427 All true, but thankfully the Great Crime Decline that began in the early '90s is mostly still with us.
1
@arcatacompany The way to handle it is to not answer any questions without an attorney. Specifically, tell the police that you are invoking your 5th Amendment Right to Silence.
1
@Deletirium Did you see the charges at the end? There's a response from a lawyer upthread. The state usually requests very serious charges, and then the suspect (over 90% of the time) pleads to something lesser. No trial occurs, and it's a win-win.
1
@verbalswagrawkey1932 Which was futile and foolish. Don't talk to the police without an attorney.
1
@r22d80 It was a plea deal, as happens over 90% of the time.
1
@77thTrombone There was no trial. A hearing, sure, but fewer than 10% of cases go to trial.
1
@BronzeBellaBria He pled to a lesser charge. That's how it happens the vast majority of the time.
1
@FilmSpook No, whom do you mean by "them?"
1
@catherinethemba Yes, in fact it is an American name.
1
@Hydermehdi *losing
1
@6996brandyl You assume too much.
1
@jasonlovi8745 Yes, as he took a plea deal.
