Fetuses might be more than clumps of cells (that better describes zygotes/early embryos), but they still aren't babies, and they don't have personhood.

Planned Parenthood was found to do nothing wrong, after multiple investigations across several states, often performed by Attorneys General who are not fans of PP. They were donating fetal tissue with costs covered, for use in medical research to battle disease (and that's pro-life). Yes indeed, the late doctor's improper fetus storage was a dangerous hazard is is rather appalling, as is this activist's actions.

@melanieb2132 Fetal tissue research is very beneficial to fight against diseases that harm and kill people. If your cost/benefit analysis makes you decide that you don't want to make use of medical treatment developed from such research, you don't have to.

@melanieb2132 My instinct says yes, but if (and I do mean if) the experts can clearly tell that there was no wrongdoing, then I would defer to their judgment.

@pearlakina3911 I want to know more about the M.E.'s decision, but according to said M.E., they were still fetuses, and there was no wrongdoing. Some have suggested that the fetuses were in fact stillbirths.

@truanashabadapressure6621 It's not a word game. "Distinct DNA" is true, but irrelevant. The reason that this discussion/argument/debate doesn't go very far is because not enough people try to break down what it is that makes killing wrong. Personhood refers to those criteria, like sentience, the will to live, biological autonomy (not being in a quasi-parasitic relationship), and all the other things that are taken away/violated when a person is killed. Babies have that, in a rudimentary but real way. Embryos & fetuses don't. There's no harm in not being born.

@bseaingu I certainly don't have a problem with somebody doing that in principle (people hold funerals for stillbirths, although apparently that wasn't usually the case when stillbirth was more common), except these people may have obtained the fetuses via theft, some form of subterfuge, or something like that. There are hygienic standards in place for dealing with biohazards, and situations like this do not meet those standards!

@yukozuna1130 What, the videos? It was discovered quite early on that they were deceptively edited. As I said, multiple investigations found no wrongdoing by PP. Hell, even Mike Pence admitted this.

Buried properly? What do you mean by that? If the "millions of others" you're referring to are abortions in general, then there are indeed things that should be discussed more, but probably not what you are thinking of.

@danielawooton1222 There are procedures in place to safely and hygienically dispose of this sort of thing. Taking them home does not qualify, no matter who's doing it, nor how many/few.
