@BunsenHoneydew001 No, that's not essentially what she did. Embryos (most abortions involve embryos) and fetuses (some abortions involve fetuses) aren't babies. They don't have personhood. That comes later.

@WI-Girl-In-SC Unfortunately, scared & confused women (or girls, in this case) who have just given birth might not be aware of such an option, or fear the stigma of doing so, and so on. Read about cases like this, and you'll see some of the reasons why few women avail themselves of what you see as the logical course of action.

@tomlovejoy2141 The point is that in areas where abortion is inaccessible (and there are attempts in Ohio to do just that), this sort of thing is likely to increase. Meanwhile, how would she be trained to believe that this is her right?

@esco413 "Them?" Yes, the rate of such crimes has been declining. I hope that it stays that way, but the Dobbs decision is likely to either stop the decline, or at least slow it.
