@Mrnoob951 He was trying to drive through the crowd. Considering the number of automotive attacks we've seen recently, the fear was more than justified.

And when someone is driving a car into a crowd, you are allowed to approach said car to investigation. Witnesses testified against the assertion that Foster pointed his rifle.

@slickrick412 He started it. Considering all of the ramming attacks we've seen, the fear of the marchers was more than justified.

@slickrick412 The witnesses said otherwise. I'm referring to the attacks in Charlottesville, and several dozen in 2020. I want to post a link with a list, but apparently posts containing links are known to disappear.

@SineEyed He was driving into the crowd, and he had previously expressed a desire to use violence against demonstrators.

What literal racists?

He was driving into a crowd, and he previously expressed a desire to ram/shoot demonstrators. We don't want to see another Charlottesville-style attack, and that's not the only one.

@Mrnoob951 Internet Tough Guy (and/or sadist)!

@mopar21 ?

@Mrnoob951 Protests take the streets. They always have. Trying to "nose" one's car through a crowd is inherently dangerous and unnecessary. Again, witnesses dispute that anyone pointed a weapon at the shooter.

@Mrnoob951 Is it grounds for self-defense to simply see someone who's approaching while legally carrying openly?

He didn't point it.

@SineEyed Foster wasn't Black. You can't imagine an interracial relationship?
1
@SineEyed He had stopped and honked his horn, and then tried to drive through the crowd. He could have waited. Also, your "BLM terrorists" snarl phrase is unbecoming.

@BigFootTheRealOne A crowd that was on the move, and would pass by. That's usually how protests work. After Charlottesville, and many other such incidents in 2020, people are right to be wary of this sort of thing from motorists.

@SineEyed Protests take the streets. It doesn't accomplish anything to be a quiescent, obedient rule-follower all the time. Foster didn't point his rifle at Perry; he moved towards the car to investigate. After Charlottesville, and numerous other incidents since then, people are wary about what hotheads in vehicles might do. That also applies to armed reactionaries on foot; see the Normandale Park shooting. The point is that armed defense of protests, and defense of communities in general, is a necessity. Considering not just what Perry did, but what his statements show, it was more than reasonable for Foster and the others to be alarmed!

@mikel5929 Fighting for justice is a good choice. Attempting to drive through a crowd is not.
1
@SaKOTR He could have stopped and not pulled into the street.
1
@mikel5929 I'm not sure what you mean by that.
