Somehow I think that if I drove through the March For Life I wouldn't get off so lightly.

@kbstudent The First Amendment is our permit, but besides that, I could say the same about other rightist demonstrations. Also, the aggressive swarming only occurred as it began to appear that a car was about to plow through the crowd, rather than just waiting for a bit. There have been so many car attacks in recent years that people are right to be fearful.

@kbstudent Isn't taking the streets as a group different from obstructing an official proceeding (a rather hefty charge, as it turns out), entering restricted zones, parading/demonstrating in a Capitol building, and the other charges that the Capitol attackers are faced with? Note also that those are just the nonviolent charges, nor do they include things like conspiracy! Marching, taking it to the street, is assembly & speech; and permits inherently restrict that right to the more privileged. Protests have to raise a ruckus; they sometimes include things like locking down intersections, but are more often moving/roving.
