  2. It's so fascinating to imagine what would have happened if the Mensheviks and/or SRs (who were popular with the peasants) had carried the day, and/or if the anarchists had not been crushed. The Green movements in the civil war generally referred to peasants' groups who were happy to see the landlords gone, but didn't want to be run by a party either. They weren't necessarily anarchists, but they wanted as much local control/autonomy as possible.

  7. This is off the main topic, but anarchist collectivization is vastly different. In fact, sticking with Ukraine, see the Ukraine Free Territory (Makhnovshchina) during the Russian Civil War.
