@georgepoirier9014 You don't know what you're talking about.
2
@albclean No, so-called "government welfare" did not. That's a non sequitur.
2
@Spiritualchar1111 Being in a car is actually much more dangerous. People are so bad about assessing risk.
2
@jaguardose Did you have a stroke while typing that?
2
That might actually be valid.

I don't know about SF specifically, but Florida's homicide rate is worse than California's.
1
You don't know what you're talking about.
1
mq85 Mq85 That's not even a dog whistle.
1
You lived through eras with worse rates of juvenile delinquency.
1
@12345cornbread Not this again. It's a canard.
1
Silly.
1
@juliearmymom7807 For one thing, juvenile delinquency is much less common than it was in previous decades. For another, corporal punishment does not work. It's counterproductive, and every major medical association in the world makes this clear.
1
The homicide rate in FL is notably much worse that that of CA.
1
@jackbean7195 Which states have the worst homicide rates? Look it up.
1
Lord of the Flies? The Great Crime Decline that began in the early 90s is mostly still with us, notwithstanding the upswing in homicides that began during the pandemic.

1
@ganvalexposure2163 And if you think that it's a good thing, then it caused you harm. Don't hit children. The data is very clear on this. I would link to said data, but comments with links tend to disappear.

@wendyc1902 For one thing, juvenile delinquency is much less common than it was in previous decades. For another, corporal punishment does not work. It's counterproductive, and every major medical association in the world makes this clear.
1
What About That's a non sequitur.
1
@SuperIcarusman ...are pretty well behaved compared to previous generations.
1
@SuperIcarusman You can swear on the internet.
1

1
@georgepoirier9014 Hitting children is counterproductive. I am willing to bet that these kids were beaten!
1
Look at the data on homicide rates. You'll clearly see that the blue states are mostly doing far better than the red states.

@tsampson38 Sure thing.
1
@hornett22 What the hell?
1
@michekids That's a complete non sequitur. Seriously, how do you go from that to this?
1
You don't know what you're talking about.
1
That's not true at all. For one thing, juvenile delinquency is much less common than it was in previous decades. For another, corporal punishment does not work. It's counterproductive, and every major medical association in the world makes this clear.
1
@garyszewc3339 What BS? I would share the data, but apparently comments with links get deleted. It's pretty easy to look up.
1
Florida's homicide rate is worse than California's.
1
@stevehaller6332 You're naive.
1
Why? For one thing, juvenile delinquency is much less common than it was in previous decades. For another, corporal punishment does not work. It's counterproductive, and every major medical association in the world makes this clear.
1
@cinna_to4st_waff1es I'm not crying. I'm talking about how hitting children is absolutely terrible. In fact, I would bet that these perpetrators were subject to domestic violence themselves.
1
That's nonsense. The least religious places, in the US and around the world, are also the safest.
1
@ryer8691 The data refute that. Secular places are usually the safest.
1
@Austinjack6718 Not at all. Compare and contrast religious and secular demographics.
1
And yet, Florida's homicide rate is higher than California's.
1
Juvenile delinquency is much less common than it was in previous decades.
