  8. The Capitol Police were there at the start! That's their jurisdiction, you silly person! If you're referring to other departments, you're wrong then as well. I don't think that it was Pelosi's job, and Mayor Bowser tried to get more help besides the Metropolitan Police ("Metro PD," not to be confused with the Transit Police who defend the transit system, known as The Metro). MPD showed up in huge numbers. You can also hear audio of attempts to get the Park Police, but it was too late. Meanwhile, Trump sat around for hours (this is documented) before finally being persuaded to do something.

DoD refuse to send immediate help, so Bowser called Virginia (this is clear in phone records and testimony from Gov. Northam's office, and especially because cops from VA eventually arrived). The Governor and his staff also took a call from Pelosi regarding National Guard assistance. Obviously, they wanted it as soon as possible! Per Mark Milley's under oath testimony, it took Pence (who was in mortal danger) to request the Guard, not Trump. It certainly took long enough for Christopher Miller to approve mobilization, but the Guard eventually showed up. Is that enough for you?
