  33.  @philipbell5448  Depending on which group we're talking about, their arrival might have been before the widespread use of leaded paint, not to mention the much bigger contaminant: leaded gasoline! Much more importantly, however, all of those groups "became white," (sociologists/historians have done some great work on this) and weren't subject to generations of redlining, which is part of what keeps Black Americans in rough situations to this day. Besides, note that violent crime, both organized and disorganized, was once prevalent (or not uncommon) in all of the above groups.
