  19. Do a little reading about the Great Crime Decline that began in the 90s, and is still with us (thankfully). It has little to do with policing, and more to do with things like removal of lead from gasoline (but it's still in substandard housing, and there's a lot of that in Oak Cliff). Crime dropped across the Western world, and that includes countries that never went through the "Tough On Crime" orgy that the US did, where we've ended up with roughly a quarter of the world's prisoners.

The US has no leverage over the decisions of Hamas, Fatah, etc. The US, however, has plenty of leverage over the 51st State (Israel), and could put an end to the ethnic cleansing said country has been committing since 1948. Ending support for Israeli apartheid is one way to have fewer enemies. Opposing political Zionism is not antisemitic, and it's slanderous to conflate the two. Students in the US, whether domestic or international, have the same rights of speech/assembly/etc.
